Buddhism was flourished in India before the Common Era. Gautam Buddha was born in Lumbini, in ancient India and he started his spiritual voyage at the age of 29 abandoning his worldly pleasures and family. Buddha after attaining enlightenment under the Bodhi tree in Bodhgaya spread his message far and wide accompanied by his disciples. Mostly he visited the north India and preached his sermon.
