Day 01: Arrival in Delhi
Arrive in Delhi. Transfer to the hotel by our representative. After getting refreshed you can go on a city tour in Delhi. Just visit the India gate and drive past the Parliament House and Rashtrapati Bhawan.
We will arrange a sumptuous dinner at an exotic dining venue in Delhi. After dinner, stay overnight.
Day 02 : Delhi Sightseeing
The entire day is for your sightseeing tour in Delhi. After breakfast tour the Humayun’s Tomb, Qutub Minar, Laxmi Narayan Temple, and Lotus Temple. After lunch tour the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, and Gandhi Memorial. In the evening enjoy the light and sound show at Red Fort. You can also do at the markets of Delhi today.
Day 03: Delhi - Darjeeling (flight to Bagdogra airport)
On the 3rd day of Sikkim Buddhism India Tour, after breakfast you will take the flight at Delhi Airport to Bagdogra Airport. On arrival at the airport you will be met by our representative and he will take you to Darjeeling, the hill station located in the Indian state of West Bengal.
Enroute you will drive past the Mirick Lake and Nepal border. The drive would be memorable as the scenic landscapes of mountains will pass by your side. On arrival take the hotel and rest. After dinner stay overnight.
Day 04 : Darjeeling Sightseeing
Have a cup of Darjeeling tea. You might have tasted it earlier. If not you feel rejuvenated after having a cup of this world-famous tea. Darjeeling hill resort is mainly famous for the tea gardens and mountain toy train journey. Today you will visit the Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute/Zoo and Happy Valley Tea Garden.
After lunch enjoy a mountain toy train journey and explore the scenic sights of Darjeeling. After the journey visit the Railway Museum, and Local
Market. You can buy some handicrafts products made by the Hill tribes.
After dinner stay overnight.
Day 05 : Darjeeling - Kalimpong (50 kms)
Early morning you can enjoy the sunrise view from a hill point. Then after breakfast go on a excursion tour to Tiger Hill and Ghoom Monastery. Return back to the hotel and drive to Kalimpong. On arrival take the hotel and go on a sightseeing tour to Deolo Hill, Thonga Goma Monastery and Mangaldham. After dinner, stay overnight.
Day 06 : Kalimpong - Gangtok (77 kms)
After breakfast drive to Gangtok and on arrival take the hotel.
Gangtok is the capital of Sikkim, this hill station of northeast India now draws thousands of tourists. The main attractions are the Buddhist Monasteries and the mountain beauty. Today you will visit the Directorate of Handicrafts and Handlooms, Enchey Monastery, Research Institute of Tibetology, Chorten which is a beautiful Stupa, Orchid Sanctuary and Rumtek Monastery.
Among this your visit to Rumtek Monastery will be most memorable. This monastery is one of the famous Buddhist monasteries of north east India along with Tawang and Bomdila. This monastery was founded by 9th Karamapa Wangchuk Dorje in 16th century. It is the largest Buddhist monastery in Sikkim.
After dinner, stay overnight.
Day 07 : Gangtok Sightseeing
The hill beauty of Gangtok is itself beautiful to mesmerize you. You can roam around the city and explore the lifestyle of the hill tribes. Also you can set out excursion tour to the Thshangu Lake which is located amidst beauty of nature. A temple is located on the lake side. Savor the tranquil beauty of nature.
Return back to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 08 : Gangtok - Delhi
Have breakfast at the hotel. Our representative will take you to the Bagdogra Airport where you catch your flight to Delhi and then onward flight back home.
