Day 02 : Delhi Sightseeing
After breakfast, you will be taken for a sightseeing tour of Delhi. You will visit the Birla Mandir, Lotus Temple, Qutub Minar, Jama Masjid, Purana Quila, Chandni Chowk and Rajghat. In the evening you can enjoy the light and sound programme at Red Fort which dramatically briefs history of Delhi.
Day 03 : Delhi - Bagdogra - Darjeeling (90 kms from Bagdogra Airport)
On the 3rd day of Sikkim Buddhist tour, you will take the flight to Bagdogra Airport. On arrival at the airport our representative will drive you to Darjeeling which is about 90 kms from the airport. The rest of the day is at leisure. The beautiful vistas of the mountain beauty will mesmerize you. After dinner, stay overnight.
Day 04 : Darjeeling
Darjeeling Hill station is famous for the Darjeeling tea. Today you are virtually in Darjeeling to have a cup of Darjeeling tea. After breakfast you go on a guided tour to Ghoom Monastery, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Happy Valley Tea Garden.
After lunch you will board the Darjeeling Toy Train. Explore the Railway Museum and the local markets. You can pick up some souvenirs. After dinner stay overnight.
Day 05 : Darjeeling - Pemayangtse (118kms)
After breakfast, you will drive to Pemayangtse. You will drive past the renowned Tukvar Tea Gardens, along the riverside of Rangeet. On arrival take the hotel. Then you will visit the Pemayangstye Monastery and Rabdanste Palace Ruins (the 2nd capital of Sikkim). After dinner, stay overnight.
Day 06 : Pemayangste - Yuksom (42 kms)
After breakfast, drive to Yuksom which is known as the first capital of Sikkim. Enroute you will cross the Kecheopalri Lake, the holiest lake in Sikkim. The road journey will take time as your car has to cross the hilly terrains. On arrival take the hotel at Yuksom.
Then visit Dubdi Monastery, the oldest monastery in Sikkim and Norbu Gang, where the first Chogyal (Religious King) of Sikkim was sanctified in 1642. Then return back to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 07 : Yuksom - Gangtok (125 kms)
After breakfast drive to Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. If you are a mountain walker you can visit the Tashiding Monastery located at a distance of 21 kms from Yuksom. The monastery houses the holiest stupa in Sikkim. You have to walk around 45 minutes to reach the hill top where the monastery is located.
Otherwise you can directly drive to Gangtok. On arrival take the hotel and overnight stay.
Day 08 : Gangtok Sightseeing
After breakfast, gear up for the full day sightseeing in Gangtok. Early morning you can go to a View Point to enjoy the sunrise. You will tour today the Enchay Monastery, Handicrafts Centre, and Cottage Industries.
After lunch you will tour the Institute of Tibetology and Rumtek Monastery (24km from Gangtok/ 1hr drive each way). Rumtek Monastery is the most famous monastery in Sikkim. This monastery is home to His holiness Gyawla Karmapa the XVI, the head of the Karma Kagyu of Tibetan Buddhism. Interact with the Buddhist lamas. After dinner, stay overnight.
After breakfast, you will be taken to Phodong Monastery and Labrang Monastery. Explore the relics and monuments at the monasteries.
Today you can go on a shopping spree in Gangtok. The Nepali tribes of Gangtok create various handicrafts items. Pick up some handicrafts.
Day 10 : Gangtok - Bagdogra - Delhi
On the concluding day of India Sikkim Buddhist Tour, drive to Bagdogra Airport and take your flight to Delhi and then board onward flight.
