Day 02 : Delhi
After breakfast, gear up for a full day sightseeing tour in Delhi. Visit the Raj Ghat the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi, Jama Masjid and drive past Red Fort and Chandni Chowk. After lunch visit Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate (War Memorial Arch), Lakshmi-Narayan Temple - a modern Hindu Temple. Also drive past the President's House, Parliament House, Government Secretariat Buildings and Connaught Place. You can also visit the markets of Delhi.
Day 03 : Delhi - Jaipur (256 kms)
After breakfast, you will drive to Jaipur, the capital city of India state of Rajasthan. On the way drive you will see the sights of Indian countryside. Upon arrival check in at the hotel. The rest of the time is at leisure. You can walk past the roads or enjoy an evening ride to have a view of the pink city.
After a delicious dinner, stay overnight.
After breakfast at the hotel, you proceed towards the Amber Fort which is one of the majestic forts in Rajasthan. On arrival take an elephant ride to the top of the fort. You will see here herds of elephants decorated colorfully for a ride. Explore the fort and its Rajput architecture.
Then return back to Jaipur city and enroute visit the Jal Mahal. You cannot virtually reach Jal Mahal as it is located in middle of a lake. Just have a view and enjoy a camel ride. Return back to the hotel and have your lunch. In the afternoon visit the Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar-Royal Observatory, City Palace, Nawab Sahab Ki Haveli and Johari Bazaar.
Jaipur is a paradise for shoppers. You can pick up handicrafts and other various things from the market.
Day 05 : Jaipur - Agra (235 kms)
Drive to Agra enroute visiting the deserted capital of Mughals, Fatehpur Sikri. This capital of Mughal Emperor Akbar houses some of the masterpieces of Mughals.
Upon arrival you will be accommodated at a hotel. Then you set out your Agra sightseeing tour. First visit the Agra Fort and Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daula. At the sunset time explore the majestic Taj Mahal. You can feel the beauty of Taj when you virtually explore it. Agra markets are hub of handicrafts. You can do shopping at Agra.
After a Mughlai dinner, stay overnight.
Day 06 : Agra - Varanasi (By flight)
Take the flight to Varanasi, the holy Dham of Hindus located on the bank of the holy river Ganga. On arrival take the hotel at Varanasi. In the afternoon, you will tour Sarnath, the Buddhist pilgrimage site located at a distance of 27 kms away from Varanasi. It is the site where Buddha after attaining enlightenment at Bodhgaya preached his first sermon. Explore the museum and the Dhamekh stupa.
Return back and stay overnight at Varanasi hotel.
Day 07 : Varanasi
Varanasi is one of the oldest cities in the world. Lakh of thousand Hindu believers visit Varanasi. This holy city is home to Hindu temples and Ghats. At dawn enjoy boat ride on the River Ganga. Then visit the Vishwanath Temple, Bharat Mata Temple and other important landmarks.
You will see thousands of devotees offering evening aarti to Ganga Maya. Also in one side you will see the cremation site as it is considered holy to be cremated at the Ghats of Varanasi.
After dinner, stay overnight.
Day 08 & 09 : Varanasi (Excursion tour to Rajgir and Nalanda) - Bodhgaya (240 kms)
You will stay another one night at Varanasi. On the first day you will proceed on an excursion tour to Rajgir and the nest day you will tour Nalanda and then proceed to Bodhgaya.
Rajgir is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site because the Buddha had spent 12 years at this place and the First Buddhist Council was held here after the Buddha attained Nirvana. Nalanda was founded in the 5th century AD and was a well-known Center of Buddhist learning.
On the second day drive to Bodhgaya and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 10 : Bodhgaya - Vaishali - Kushinagar
After breakfast, tour the attractions of Bodhgaya. Visit the Bodhi tree, Diamond Throne, Mahabodhi Temple - a World Heritage Site at Bodhgaya, and the temples constructed by the Buddhist countries.
Then drive to Kushinagar enroute visiting Vaishali. Lord Buddha delivered his last sermon at Vaishali and announced his impeding complete Nirvana. Visit the Ashok Pillar, Lotus Tank and Chaumukhi.
Then drive to Kushinagar for an overnight stay.
Day 11 : Kushinagar - Lumbini (161 kms)
Kushinagar is the final site of Buddhism as Lord Buddha attained mahaparinirvana at Kushinagar at the age of 81. The main attractions you will visit in the morning are the Mahanirvana Temple, the modern Japan/Sri Lanka Buddhist Center and monasteries.
Then drive to Lumbini located in Nepal. You have to cross the border of Nepal to reach Lumbini.
Day 12 : Lumbini - Kapilvastu - Sravasti - Balrampur (183 kms)
Lord Buddha was born at Lumbini and brought up at Kapilvastu. In the morning, visit the Ashoka's Pillar, Mayadevi Temple, the ruins of an old monastery and some new stupas. Then you will tour Kapilvastu; explore the Museum and the ruins of the Royal Palace. At Kapilvastu Buddha had spent his early years of life and started his spiritual quest after the four encounters.
In the afternoon, proceed to Balrampur en-route visiting Sravasti. Explore the ruins of the ancient city and Jetavana Monastery. Buddha spent several years of his life at Sravasti preaching sermon to his disciples.
Then continue drive to Balrampur and stay overnight.
Day 13 : Balrampur - Lucknow (153 kms)
Balram is a stop over for the Buddhist and Jain Pilgrimage tour. In the morning you can explore the Balrampur city. Sahet is a tourist attraction which sprawls over 400 acres of ancient ruins. Then drive to Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. On arrival take the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 14 : Lucknow - Delhi (By flight)
Lucknow is the cultural hub of Uttar Pradesh state. In the morning visit the Imambara, a Shiite religious building, Sikander Bagh Garden and Rumi Darwaza, the beautiful gateway. Later, transfer to the airport to board the flight to Delhi. On arrival transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure.
Day - 15 : Departure Delhi
