Today half-day sightseeing tour in Delhi. Visit the India Gate, Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Gandhi Memorial. Overnight stay in Delhi hotel.
Day 02 : Delhi-Leh (By flight)
After breakfast, again go on a Delhi sightseeing tour. Visit the Qutub Minar and temples. Then our representative will transfer you domestic terminal where you take your flight to Leh. On arrival meet our representative at the airport. On assistance drive to the hotel and take the hotel.
Leh is the largest town in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. It is located on the east of Tibet. So the Tibetan Buddhist after Chinese invasion settled in this region and it became a major hub of Tibetan Buddhism. The whole city is dominated by the ruins of the Leh palace. Today you only tour the Hall of Fame, Leh Palace & Shanti Stupa. The pale glory of the monuments still tells a saga of the Ladakhi kingdom.
In the evening, explore the bazaars famous for handicrafts made by the Tibetans. Pick up some souvenirs. After dinner, stay overnight.
Day 03 : Leh (excursion to monasteries)
You might have some idea how Buddhism has been rooted in Leh. The entire region is known as Little Tibet due to huge Tibetan settlements. The royal family of Ladakh patronized the monasteries. A Tibetan pilgrim namely Tsongkhapa, first introduced a Buddhist monastic order in the 14th century and the order was headed by the first Dalai Lama. Hundreds of monasteries are built in Leh and the Tibetans brought their art and religion with them.
Today you will visit the famous monasteries-Thiksey Monastery, Hemis Monastery and Shey Gompa. The palace turned Shey Gompa houses the largest Buddhist statue of the region.
If you have time you can drive to the mountain pass of Leh to explore the picturesque mountain beauty.
On the 4th day of Buddhist Tour to Ladakh, you will move towards Alchi Enroute visiting the Basgo palace and Liker monastery. Alchi is a scenic mountain village located in the Leh district of Ladakh region. This mountain village is located on a valley at the scenic backdrop of the mountains.
On arrival you will be accommodated at a hotel. Thereafter you tour the Alchi Monastery. It is one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh mostly famous for the wall paintings. Overnight at the hot.
Day 05 : Alchi - Lamayuru - Leh
After breakfast, proceed to Lamayuru Buddhist Gompa located in the Kargil district on the Srinagar-Kargil-Leh road. Visit the monastery. It is one of the oldest monasteries in Ladakh and famous for the masked dance festival.
Return to Leh and stay overnight.
Day 06 : Leh - Delhi - Agra
Take the flight to Delhi. On arrival again drive to Agra. While you reach Agra our representative will accommodate you at the hotel.
At dawn, explore the majestic Taj Mahal, the wonderful monument made on love. Also tour the Agra Fort and It-mad-ud-daula’s Tomb. Shop at the Agra markets which are famous for the leather products and marble handicrafts.
Drive to Delhi and on arrival take the hotel.
Day 8 : Delhi - Departure
Take your flight back home.
